Hey Ghanastronomists! I hope September is treating you well so far! Fall might be right around the corner, buts it’s technically still summer!! So let’s celebrate the last few days we have left with some juicy brats!
All summer long, I was slamming down brats at the Terrace, community BBQs, events and in the comfort of my own home! Here’s an impromptu version using simple ingredients I had on hand:
- Freshly baked homemade bread, 2 slices
- 2 Bratwurst
- 1/2 yellow onion, sliced
- 1/2 green bell pepper, sliced
- 1 egg, whisked
- Seasonings: black pepper, crushed red pepper flakes, salt, to taste
- Condiments: Ketchup, Mustard
- 1 Tbsp butter
Cook the bratwurst until fully cooked and brown on both sides. You can also whip out the grill if you’d like.
To a new pan, add 1 tbsp of butter and sauté the sliced onions and peppers until golden and shiny. Add the brats onto the bed of sautéed onions and peppers.
Grab a new pan and scramble the whisked egg. Assemble the brat feast!
