Hey #ghanastronomists !! It’s time for Part THREE of the Food Tour!!

6. Joe’s Pizza – Santa Monica, California After a relaxing, long day at the beach, the munchies lingered a little while longer, but we didn’t feel like splurging on a meal at the Santa Monica pier. We decided on pizza to satisfy the munchies, Joe’s pizza at that. The restaurant was very cozy and packed so we picked up our food and found a spot in the Santa Monica mall to enjoy. I ended up getting a huge slice of pepperoni pizza and strawberry Fanta—the perfect night cap for a day at the beach.

7. Kitchen24 Restaurant & Bar – West Hollywood. On the next day, which happened to be St. Patrick’s Day, we decided to go on a little adventure to the Melrose trading post for some shopping, Runyon Canyon for a hike and relaxing views, and the Hollywood walk of fame.

As you can imagine, we were out of fuel by the time dinner rolled around time and decided to stop into Kitchen 24, a diner-style restaurant open 24 hours/day. We started off with a dark ale as we waited for our meals. I ordered a cheeseburger with thick-cut bacon, fried onion ring, arugula, sautéed mushrooms, bbq sauce, and a side of chipotle aioli. To my surprise, when the server brought out my meal, there were a few mishaps.

First and foremost, I asked for arugula and instead got spring mix… not a huge deal, but it certainly threw off the taste I was hoping to achieve. Also, the bbq sauce came on the side for some reason even though I did not specify that I wanted it on the side…I just assumed a burger would naturally come with the sauce inside of it to hold together everything between the buns… I guess I assumed incorrectly. And lastly, they almost forgot the chipotle aioli! Un-flipping-believable! As a detail-oriented gal, I always pay attention to these crucial details no matter how small they may seem. Did I complain? Not this time around. Will I let this slide again in the future? Absolutely not. I guess I was feeling “nice” in that moment, but I can’t promise the same level of compliance the next time around😉

Anyways, I hope you’ve enjoyed the food tour journey! Let me know if I should do more in the future!!

Stay Hungry,

Maame Amma ❤
